Agenda

  1. Welcome and Overview of Agenda 11:03

  2. Open Forum - Questions or Concerns 11:04

    1. Neither Mary Jo or David had any questions or concerns. Mary Jo continued to talk about how people need to be more responsible for themselves and stop blaming dr’s, nurses and others for the current situation they are in. People should be thankful for what the valley has to offer and not complain about what is absent.

  3. Input About CMA Operations 11:15

    1. Discussed my roles and responsibilities at DHS. Mary Jo and David both are very pleased with their case managers. They approve of the professionalism and responsiveness of their case managers.

  4. Review of Policies and Procedures 11:16

    1. Follow-Up About Items Discussed During Previous CAC Meeting

      1. Mary Jo talked about how she has not had time to follow-up more with utilizing golf carts in the area. She stated that she is busy helping with toys for tots and how well the community has responding in donations and donating personal time.

    2. Discussion of New Policies and Procedures

      1. Mary and David reviewed the policy and procedures that were presented. Conflict of Interest and the Human Rights Committee. Questions were presented and answered. Mary Jo and David both agreed that it is very good to have a policy regarding Conflict of Interest regarding family members who work at DHS and have family that are receiving services. They also appreciate the work the Human Rights Committee does.

    3. Policies and Procedures to be Reviewed During Next Meeting

      1. Mary Jo and David both agreed that it would fine if Donna chose new policies to review at next meeting.

  5. Review of Complaints 11:30

    1. Follow-up on Complaints Discussed During Previous CAC Meeting

      1. None needed.

    2. Discussion of New Complaints

      1. There were two complaints to discuss this quarter. One was regarding a member that had been assaulted numerous times and placed back into a group home with the person assaulting them. Mary Jo and David were confused as to why that would happen. I informed them that as case managers we are required to report the incident to Adult Protective Service. We also discussed a complaint that came through on the HCPF Member complaint email regarding a question about family members being paid to care for their parents. I explained that I did not feel this was a complain, but, since it was relayed to Otero County on that particular email address, I felt it needed to be added to in house complaint log.
