- Otero County has awarded the contract for the Road & Bridge Facilities Redevelopment Project to Mac Valley Construction LLC following a competitive Request for Proposals process.
- The award and selection of Option 2A (30 ft × 100 ft Sand/Equipment Storage Facility) were approved by the Board of County Commissioners on February 9, 2026.
- Amendment to Award (Approved February 23, 2026): On February 23, 2026, the Board of County Commissioners approved an amendment to its February 9 action, changing the selected design option from Option 2A (30 ft × 100 ft) to Option 2B (40 ft × 100 ft). The amended award amount associated with Option 2B is $410,365.00 (previous Option 2A amount was $396,847.00). This action is consistent with the Evaluation Team’s original recommendation.

Otero County is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to reconstruct a shop and office facility that was destroyed by fire and construct a new sand/equipment storage building. Notice of Schedule Update – Updated February 5, 2026
The selection announcement date has been updated from the original RFP schedule. As stated in the RFP, all dates are tentative and subject to change. The County’s internal evaluation process is ongoing.
The Notice of Award and official Selection Announcement is anticipated to be posted on or after February 9, 2026, once the Board of County Commissioners receives the recommendation from the evaluation team, has completed its review, and taken formal action.
